PGL℠ Programs available at the Rainbow Children’s Academy!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Children’s Trust, Playing the Game of Life℠ offers programming at NO COST at the Rainbow Children’s Academy located at 2720 W 1 st Avenue, City of Hialeah. Please see details below:

PLAYING THE GAME OF LIFE – PREVENTION

This program for 3-4 year olds combines interactive lectures, guided meditation, Positive Communication and Life Skills (PCLS), yoga/stretching, rhythmic art/music, arts & crafts, and performance art/dramatic play. Children will have the opportunity to experience learning about themselves and the world around them, from the inside out, with hopes that their true essence will shine through, while giving them not just life skills, but life-long skills. Each of 5 components takes place twice per week for 9 weeks, totaling 45 weeks throughout the year. Parents and staff receive monthly Conscious Discipline workshops. All classes are presented in Spanish, with the population of this Hialeah zip code being made up of 93% Hispanic individuals, with 95% speaking Spanish.

PLAYING THE GAME OF LIFE – AFTER SCHOOL

Description:

“Playing the Game of Life OOS – Rainbow” is an after school program at Rainbow Children’s Academy which provides services to 37 general population and 4 children with disabilities ages 5-12 years old residing in the city of Hialeah. This program is a social skills-infused arts-based program that includes literacy, physical fitness and creative movement, rhythmic art, fine art, cooking and nutritional education, and social skills components designed to expose, inspire, and guide participants through a progressive, (w)holistic, and comprehensive program addressing the physical, emotional, mental, creative, and social aspects of each child. Its mission is “to develop social skills, build positive character attributes, and promote life-long wellness through arts-based prevention programs.”
